Introduction

I am Jane Strugnell, an artist and craftsperson. I recently relocated to Caithness from Wester Ross.

Formerly trading as Londubh Studio in Poolewe, Wester Ross, I began by creating figurative ceramics using the raku method. As a further development I returned to painting, something I had not done for many years. I had to start from the beginning, and finally settled on painting mainly in acrylics. I began by selling paintings and ceramics at Poolewe Market, a market that I later became manager of, on behalf of a local community charity. I also became interested in jewellery making and began making earrings and necklaces using semi-precious stones and beads.

After a visit to Edinburgh, having seen an exhibition of feltwork sculptures, I taught myself this skill and have produced, and sold, a variety of pieces. I have continued to sell my work via exhibitions and online and examples of all the different work I produce can be seen on these pages.

In 2011 I am hoping to establish a market based on the market I previously managed, and my work and that of other artists, craftspeople and food producers will also be on sale there. Click on the relevant link above to view products and for more information.
